Student Day

The Student Day will take place on May 18, 2014, from 9:00 to 18:00 at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy-Ion Research (GSI), Planckstraße 1, 64291 Darmstadt. Participation in the student day is mandatory for all students and young postdocs who receive financial support to attend the Quark Matter 2014.

Program

To accommodate individual levels of expertise of the participants for every scientific topic of the Student Day two parallel sesions are organized:

•   • Session A "Observables and Concepts" will give an introduction to the basic observables and concepts of the subject and will include an overview of the most important results.
•   • Session B "Recent Developments" will give a more detailed overview about recent developments on the subject and aimed for students who are already familiar with the general observables and concepts.

Transportation

Bus transportation from and to Darmstadt city center will be provided. Buses will leave from the Darmstadtium on Sunday morning at 9:00 and will depart back from GSI at 18:00.
